The month of May has been a busy time around Brooks-TLC so far. May 6 – May 12, we celebrated National Nurses Week, followed by National Hospital Week, May 12-15, with a number of special events for the fabulous team of healthcare professionals at Brooks-TLC. Leadership took this opportunity to thank our nurses and other healthcare pros for their hard work and dedication to provide the best care for patients and families.
Friday we celebrated the birthday of Florence Nightingale (May 12, 1820) with a cupcake party – the sweet treats were provided by Brooks-TLC President and CEO Ken and Larissa Morris.
Kim Dougherty, RN Honored as the 2024 Recipient of the Carol Kozlwoski Nurse of Distinction Award
Also on Friday, May 10th, we celebrated Kim Dougherty, RN from 2A and Infusion at Brooks-TLC, as the 2024 recipient of the Carol Kozlwoski Nurse of Distinction Award. This award is presented annually to a nurse who embodies the qualities of the late Carol A. Kozlowski, former Chief Nursing Officer at Brooks-TLC whose career spanned 45-years at Brooks Hospital. Kim received the award during a ceremony attended by her co-workers and surprise guests – her husband, Joseph, and her mother, Karen. The award was presented by Lisa Barone, Director of Surgical Services and Infection Prevention. Congratulations Kim!
We wrapped up the celebration with Kettle Corn on Tuesday May 14th and an Ice Cream Social on May 15th. Thank you to everyone that was able to join in the fun and to all Brooks-TLC associates that give their best everyday.
