Morton has served as interim CNO since June

The Brooks-TLC Hospital System has announced the promotion of Julie Morton, M.S., B.S.N, R.N., to the position of Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) and Compliance Officer, effective immediately.

“We are pleased to have Julie join the executive leadership team,” said Mary LaRowe, Brooks-TLC’s president and CEO. “Julie is an experienced and energetic leader who has always put the patient first while focusing on improving patient outcomes and further developing provider relationships. In her prior position as director of nursing for emergency services, her development and implementation of plans and systems improved quality, safety and delivery of emergent patient care from the moment patients entered the hospital facility.”  LaRowe added, Julie played a key role in emergency preparedness during the height of the pandemic and has continued to serve the hospital well as the System recovers.”

Morton joined Brooks-TLC in 2015 as assistant nurse manager, and also served as clinical nurse manager, before her promotion to director of nursing for emergency services in 2017. With over 25 years of nursing experience, she came to Brooks-TLC from UPMC Chautauqua WCA in Jamestown, where she was charge nurse.

In her role as CNO and compliance officer, Morton is responsible for overseeing all nursing activities, as well as ensuring system-wide adherence to outside regulatory and legal requirements, and internal policies and procedures

Morton holds a Master of Science in Nursing Executive Leadership from Daemen College, a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Gannon University and an Associate’s in Applied Science from Alfred State College of Technology.

“I am honored to be able to expand my professional commitment to the hospital in anew leadership role and to continue to serve a population so worthy of high quality and compassionate care,” said Morton.”
